The second wave of covid infection has triggered a huge medical supply crunch all over the country. Though this crisis is being efficiently tackled by the government there is an urgent need to reduce the burden on the already stressed medical system.

In order to reduce the load on the system the MP of Bengaluru south Tejasvi Surya launched the Oxy bank initiative by tying up with eminent citizens of the society and NGOs from India and abroad. By bringing all of them on one platform an efficient team has been put together that works in tandem with the MP’s office to fulfill the oxygen requirements of covid affected patients by supplying them with oxygen concentrators.
The logistical aspect is taken care of by Peace auto and the concentrators are delivered to the doorstep, in exchange for a small refundable security deposit.
The MP also thanked Namma Bengaluru Foundation and Act India foundation for contributing and also thanked San Francisco-based Vasavi Seva foundation for contributing 150 small concentrators.
The Oxy bank which began with 15 concentrators will soon be expanded to 650-1000 units said the MP. He also thanked CEO of Paytm for offering to help in such a grave situation by helping setting up oxygen production unit in Jayanagar general hospital and also contributing 150 concentrators.
He opined that by that making use of this facility people could avail oxygen at home and avoid hospitalization and hunting for beds. One could avail this facility by calling the helpline number 080-61914960 started by the office of the MP.
